ALLISON YEAGER
Instructional Designer | eLearning Developer | Learning & Development Specialist
Hi, I’m Allison, an Instructional Designer & E-Learning Developer who loves transforming complex ideas into engaging, interactive learning experiences.
With a background in corporate training and instructional design, I specialize in creating e-learning that’s not just effective—but actually enjoyable. Whether it’s developing scenario-based training, interactive Storyline modules, or optimizing LMS experiences, I thrive on making learning click for users.
I believe training should be engaging, intuitive, and never boring—because let’s be real, we’ve all sat through those mind-numbing courses before. My goal? To design learning experiences that actually stick.
Let’s make learning shine!
FEATURED WORK
Mastering Effective Feedback
Developing an eLearning Course for a Small Business to Strengthen Feedback Skills
Client: A small business aiming to improve workplace communication and feedback culture.
Project Goal: To create a training solution that helps employees and managers give clear, constructive, and empathetic feedback using a structured model.
Project Deliverables
Select each deliverable to see how this project was designed, developed, and implemented.
Project Scope
The client, a small but growing organization, noticed that feedback conversations were inconsistent—some employees struggled to express constructive feedback, while others avoided giving it altogether. Leadership wanted a practical, engaging solution that would:
✔ Provide employees with a structured, repeatable approach to giving feedback.
✔ Use real-world scenarios to make learning relevant and applicable.
✔ Offer a self-paced training option that didn’t disrupt daily operations.
After conducting a needs analysis with leadership and team members, I proposed a scenario-based eLearning course built around the ACE Feedback Model (Action-Based, Constructive, Empathetic).
Instructional Design Approach
Analysis
Through discussions with the business owner and team leads, we identified that employees needed a clear framework for giving feedback and opportunities to practice in a safe environment. Since the team was small, an interactive eLearning module was chosen to allow employees to learn independently without requiring dedicated in-person training time.
Design
I structured the course around realistic workplace scenarios, ensuring employees could immediately apply their learning. The design focused on:
Branching Interactions – Learners navigate feedback conversations and see the impact of different choices.
Scenario-Based Learning – Workplace situations require learners to apply feedback techniques in context.
Immediate Reinforcement – Learners receive tailored responses to guide them toward more effective feedback strategies.
Downloadable Job Aid – A quick-reference guide supports learners beyond the course.
Development
The course was developed in Articulate Storyline, incorporating:
✔ Decision-Based Scenarios – Learners engage in real conversations and practice giving feedback.
✔ Interactive Click-to-Reveal Elements – Engaging elements encourage exploration and reinforcement.
✔ Branched Learning Paths – Learners receive customized feedback based on their decisions.
Refinements Based on Feedback
To ensure the training was both instructionally sound and user-friendly, I sought feedback from instructional design peers and company leadership.
Peers in instructional design provided insights on interaction flow, branching logic, and accessibility best practices.
Client leadership offered feedback on scenario relevance, tone, and clarity to ensure the training resonated with their workplace culture.
This iterative design process led to refinements in scenario complexity, feedback phrasing, and user navigation, improving the overall learner experience.
Implementation & Evaluation
The final eLearning module was uploaded to the client’s LMS, allowing employees to complete it at their own pace. Since branching interactions serve as the knowledge checks, learners receive immediate feedback on their choices, reinforcing learning through realistic practice rather than traditional assessments.
